What’s the deal with wind and solar energy? Let’s talk about it.
By 2024, Southeast Asia’s cumulative solar photovoltaic capacity is expected to triple to 35.8 Gigawatts, thus making it one of the fastest growing solar energy markets.
In particular, Vietnam’s renewable energy has increased and only continues to. Vietnam hopes to produce 23% of their total power from renewable sources by 2025. They have a coastline of over 2112 miles with high potential for many wind energy and solar energy projects. In fact, 80 wind projects are registered with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and should be operational by 2021 (depending on how their momentum is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic).
Goldwind, an elite wind turbine supplier and energy solutions provider, has been expanding in Vietnam by making sustainable and renewable energy and high-quality services accessible to local communities.
With new wind projects starting, Goldwind plans to strengthen the localization of microgrids in the country and take advantage of the benefits of production and supply in China. Their ultimate goal is to further empower Vietnam’s local economy.
There is an abundance of opportunities in Southeast Asia in the realm of wind and energy. Is this a space your company fits into or an investment opportunity for your fund? Reach out to find out how you can fit into this exciting sector.

Discovered Markets works all over the globe, from Malaysia to Uzbekistan to Malawi to Sierra Leone. While this can mean travel for some, we have set up systems and networks to allow speedy market interviews, observations, and testing almost anywhere in the world.
We often used the line: "We may not know, but we know how to know." While the team has experience across a diverse set of sectors from project work and prior professional experience, we will never know an industry as intimately as our client or other stakeholders do.
The majority of partners we work with have existing products or services. When taking a user-centric approach, however, this can create conflict.
Testing is an established practice to de-risk business decisions. However, when business is fast-moving and complex, testing can be viewed as too slow.
